DESCRIPTION:
Arboretum (2016) - Re-imagines the classic stained glass window through the viewers digital manipulation of its trees, foliage, branches, and seasonal colours.
Turn the Tide (2016) - Looks at the calm and devastating presence waves bring to our lives through oceans, music, painting and photography. A graphic of white dots are manipulated by the viewer when interpreted. More interference results in a stronger wave.
Feathers (2016) - Presents the lightness of each feather dispersed into the air, in a celebration of their delicacy form and function with the viewer able to influence the path in which they fall.
A Concentric Study (2015) - is a video piece exploring the underlying architecture of the Grand Palais in Paris. The architecture elevations have been removed and replaced with black and white graphics that narrate through light and form.
DETAIL:
With colleagues I went through the process of building a freestanding wooden prototype to house the transparent OLED screen for testing on a CNC machine.
The idea was developed through several different hanging and enclosed designs before being finalised within a shelf housing all hardware.
I looked at the unique 3D printed internal enclosures, jigs, and alignments needed for the hardware along with arrangement and layout with colleagues along with assembling the metal work.
I installed the 1st edition into a private clients and the 2nd edition at PAD London.
