DESCRIPTION:

The reflex artworks are experimental unique artworks that capture complex three-dimensional forms within lasered blocks of glass that are edge illuminated. The works are inspired by Harris’ own background as an architect, married with his own interests in complex geometries and forms.

Continuing the exploration with a striking geometric design that appears only when viewed off-centre, revealing a previously hidden volume.

This process meant I had to visit glass manufactures and handlers, researching the best way to achieve flawless bonding techniques and effects.

Along with colleagues we explored numerous geometries, patterns, and light that best achieved the infinite phenomenon.

The artwork was produced with the smallest of tolerances mainly being glass and stainless steel which meant spending a lot of time machining the pieces until they sat precisely together.
