DESCRIPTION:

Bloomed continues to recreate the natural world through digital means. A study of twenty plants, where the artworks allow themselves to be subtly interacted with.

They play on the nature of classical still life, whereby small movements enliven the flowers, causing them to flourish as observers pass by.

DETAIL:

Starting from the inside out, planning electronics, sensors, screens and what’s needed to make the hardware universal and easily accessible.

We prototyped the physical build through CAD, card, and wood. When finalised I prepared the metalwork received from the fabricators, tapping, filing, and priming. After, assemble the hardware along with custom 3D printed housing.

Each is packed in a case along with a 1:1 plotted template for hanging and signed off by myself or a colleague once testing has been approved. I would also work on the layout and composition when exhibited and install the pieces into collectors’ homes when sold.
