DESCRIPTION:

Each butterfly is portrayed individually within the interactively controlled artwork, and uses innovative technologies to permit the viewer to engage with the butterfly.

Each of the selected species has been re-interpreted as a ‘living’ portrait of the specimens, with each butterfly exhibiting its own unique mannerisms and attributes. When the viewer approaches the artwork the butterfly changes from a resting pose to a flight mode, tracking the viewer to best display its beautiful wings in a slow-motion flight.

DETAIL:

I would work on the stock, ordering, preparing, and building of the metal work and later painting of parts and assembly of internal electronics.

Later upload content and configuring with testing of both hardware and software was undertaken before signed off by myself.

When exhibited at shows I would demonstrate the artwork to the public and also, install the pieces into a collector’s home once installation drawings had been prepared by myself or colleagues. I would typically be working independently overseas troubleshooting and updating if needed.
